Bird Proofing Division

Ace Doors Limited

Ace Doors manufactures selected models of Nergeco fast acting doors under licence in New Zealand at their new East Tamaki, Auckland factory.

Ace operates throughout New Zealand with some export sales.
The business initially known as Ace Environmental Services Ltd was incorporated in 1974. The change of name to Ace Doors Ltd better identifies its core business - flexible pvc door design , sales, manufacture and installation.

Ace Birdproofing Systems is now a separate trading division which carries out varied and exciting structural birdproofing work throughout New Zealand.

With previous experience in bird control it was natural to apply that background to the needs of many clients who installed flexible pvc door products to exclude birds.

There is a synergy between our two trading entities - backed by a Team with wide experience in environmental health and building related trades. This means our Team can better understand your concerns and requirements and offer you customised and practical solutions.

Our web site is designed to allow you to quickly reach the products or services which interest you. Simply complete the few details on our "Contact" page to receive our personal and prompt attention with "solutions" for you to consider.

New Zealand Native Frogs

For 3 years from 1996 - 1999, Ace Doors Ltd sponsored research into New Zealand Native Frogs through the Threatened Species Trust, Dept. of Conservation.

The four New Zealand native frog species are all croakless and earless: considered the world's most primitive of living frogs.

A key point of difference with other frog species is that the tadpoles metamorphose inside the eggs (the egg is their own personal pond) and they hatch as baby frogs, still with their remnant tails.

Frogs will climb up their father's hind legs and spend their final weeks of development on his back.

All frogs are very susceptible to climate change and their numbers are decreasing world wide.

The Department of Conservation (DOC) website contains current information about all New Zealand's threatened species.

Department of Conservaton (DOC)website: http://www.doc.govt.nz
At their website information about NZ Native Frogs is found under Native Animals, Herpetofauna, Threatened Species etc..
